House rules: House rules are your rules! They are what guests need to follow when staying at your home. Are pets or smoking allowed inside your home? Are there quiet hours that should be observed? You may also add information such as fees if rules are broken.
Keep house rules simple and easy to read and remember! Be as straightforward and general as possible to avoid misinterpretation. If there are more specific rules you want mentioned, they can also be communicated when you show the guests into your home, or on a guest book kept inside your home – however, it’s usually better to inform guests of these things before they make a booking. Try to keep the list between 8-10 items to avoid chasing away potential guests – remember, it is a vacation!
We recommend you write down at least 100 words in house rules. Having too few house rules can make you seem like a host who doesn’t care. Listed below are some of the most frequently used house rules:
- Only registered guests are allowed
- Smoking or pets are not allowed
- Events or parties are not allowed
- Do not engage in illegal activities anywhere in the house
- Quiet time is after 11:00 PM
- Please dispose of all garbage in the trash can
- Please do not wear shoes inside
- Turn off lights or AC/Heater when not in use
- Please return all keys. The fee for the lost key will be 20 USD
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and we will arrange for its replacement or repair
How to get to the property: As a host, you will want to make your guests’ stay as comfortable as possible, and that starts with helping them easily find your property. Make the directions as clear, detailed and easy-to-follow as possible – this has a big impact on your guests’ travel experience! The information you provide in this section will be automatically sent to your guest once their booking is confirmed.

The most convenience and fastest way to reach our apartment is by Taxi or Uber or Grab taxi which takes 30 minutes from xxx international airport. Taxi fare is about $70.
Alternatively, you may take Bus 100 from xxx international airport to ZZZ which departs every hour between 08:00AM and 9:00PM. Bus fare is $25 and entire journey takes approximately 1 hour.
From ZZZ, you can either walk to our apartment which is approximately 10 minutes away or take a taxi. Our Apartment is opposite of the famous black bookstore and between Sunny egg coffee shop and Mexicano restaurant.
The exact address of our apartment is 101 Apartment building, 10 Rose Boulevard Rd, Rome, Italy 11000.

Check-in instructions: Providing details such as check-in instructions to the guests right after they make a booking is a good way to reduce uncertainty and enhance their overall experience. We share this information with the guest immediately after a booking is made.
Recommended information to include in your check-in instructions:
- Tell guests how to enter your property (collect the key at reception, meet you at the lobby, self-check-in, etc.)
- Let them know how they can collect the key to your property or share the door code or lock-box code if needed
- If they need to contact someone to enter your property, share the contact details of that person
- Kindly include any additional charges that may apply outside normal check-in procedure to avoid surprises

To update house rules and directions to the property after the property has gone live, go to the Listings page and click Edit Listing. Then, go to the Description page.

After the property is live, you may update house rules and directions to the property by clicking on Listings, then Description. To add check-in instructions separately, click on Saved Messages and then Check-in instructions.
